HullWiper brings its eco-friendly hull cleaning solution to Singapore with Unidive Subsea

HullWiper, a leading hull cleaning technology company, has signed a lease agreement with Unidive Subsea. This collaboration will allow its innovative ROV cleaning technology to be deployed in Singapore ports and other key areas. In addition, the alliance envisages the expansion of these services to oil and gas platforms, including FPSOs and FSOs, through contracts with regional companies in the sector.

ROV technology for greener maritime transport

Singapore’s shipping industry, which plays a crucial role in the global economy due to its strategic location on major trade routes, aligns with the country’s commitment to achieve net-zero emissions by 2050.

HullWiper, with its advanced technology, will contribute to Singapore’s Maritime Decarbonisation Plan, promoting more responsible and safe practices within the maritime sector . The hull cleaning solution, scheduled to be launched in January 2025, enables efficient operations that reduce fuel consumption and greenhouse gas emissions.

Unidive Subsea , known for its ROV and diving services, is key to bringing these technological innovations to Singapore’s ports.

The integration of HullWiper in the region opens up new opportunities to optimize our traditional methods and adapt to the changing demands of the sector.

HullWiper’s ROV technology offers a more environmentally friendly way of cleaning ship hulls, eliminating the need for traditional methods involving divers. This not only improves safety, but also minimises environmental impacts, ensuring waste is managed responsibly.

Since its launch in 2013, HullWiper has grown significantly, establishing bases around the world, from the Middle East to Europe and the Americas. The autonomous ROV technology has completed over 2,000 hull cleanings , ensuring ships operate at peak performance whilst contributing to cleaner, greener shipping.
