The company Huawei Technologies presented a system of ecological 5G antennas that will reduce energy consumption and carbon emissions through the use of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) that will enable industrial digitization and promote sustainable development in different countries of the world.
“We are living in a new era, the most profound technological revolution in human history. By the end of this year there will be more than a billion 5G connections around the world. I feel that it has never been as important for our industries to unite as it is now, everything is happening at an amazing speed”, explained Alberto Mendoza, Huawei Bolivia Business Development Manager.
5G networks are essential for the digital growth of countries, and are necessary for the world of industry and companies, since they allow their processes to be optimized and give them greater efficiency. It is an essential technology to promote other services that drive digital transformation, such as cloud storage, artificial intelligence or computing.
To implement 5G technology, base stations are installed that require a power source and are equipped with antennas. Within the framework of technological advancement, Huawei has replaced diesel-based generators with solar panels in Nigeria and Angola – Africa, which offer a much cleaner source of energy.
Simultaneously, the company has introduced an eco-friendly 5G antenna that covers an area of up to 500 meters using half the transmission power, which is equivalent to a 30% reduction in power consumption.
