Hapag-Lloyd implementing improvements!
Shipping company Hapag-Lloyd has made an upgrade to its GS1 service, which connects the US Gulf with the east coast of South America, by adding a new ship and port to the rotation .
The container ship Tokyo Bay, with a capacity of 6,622 TEU, a length of 270 meters and a beam of 42 meters, will join the company’s fleet, bringing the total number of vessels assigned to the GS1 service to 9.
In addition, it has been decided to add the Port of Paranaguá in Brazil as a new stop on the route , with the aim of expanding coverage on the east coast of South America. The first call is scheduled for the last week of August 2023.
Thus, the new northward travel sequence of the service will be as follows: Veracruz (Mexico) – Altamira (Mexico) – Houston (United States) – New Orleans (United States) – Cartagena (Colombia) – Suape (Brazil) – Santos (Brazil) – Buenos Aires (Argentina) – Montevideo (Uruguay) – Rio Grande (Brazil) – Navegantes (Brazil) – Paranaguá – Santos – Rio de Janeiro (Brazil) – Cartagena – Veracruz.
