At an event that captured the attention of the automotive and technology sectors, Chinese company Chery revealed its prototype of a flying car, called the Land-Air Vehicle . During the Chery Global Innovation Conference 2024, held in Anhui, China, the company showed off this car, capable of operating both on land and in the air, and has already successfully completed 80-kilometer flight tests .
Features of the Land and Air Vehicle
This electric vehicle has been designed to carry two people and is characterized by its ability to perform vertical takeoffs and landings , which sets it apart from other aerial vehicles in development. Its operating altitude is limited to less than 1,000 meters, and it is capable of reaching a maximum speed of 120 kilometers per hour in the air , with a flight autonomy of up to 40 minutes.
One of the most notable features of the prototype is that it has no steering wheel or accelerator , as all maneuvers are controlled autonomously. However, in emergency situations, human intervention is planned.

The company is also innovating in the field of batteries, with the aim of integrating solid-state batteries into its vehicles by 2026. This type of battery offers greater energy density and a higher level of safety compared to the lithium-ion batteries currently used. With this technology, it is expected to reduce production costs and improve the efficiency of electric cars.
