With the aim of promoting the development of the mining sector and promoting investments in four states, the Ministry of Mines and Energy, through the Geological Service of Brazil (SGB-CPRM), published notices for the transfer of mining rights in the areas of Kaulim do Rio Capim, Copper from Bom Jardim de Goiás and Phosphate from Miriri, located in the states of Pará, Goiás and Paraíba-Pernambuco, respectively.
The initiative reinforces the institution’s commitment to the development of Brazilian mining, allowing the private sector to participate in the process of research and study of deposits.
The public announcements of projects went through public hearings and the auctions will be held on December 7, 2022, in Brasilia, starting at 10 a.m.
The Miriri Phosphate project involves a set of areas in the coastal region of two Brazilian states, Paraíba and Pernambuco, about 45 km south of the city of João Pessoa. It covers the municipalities of Alhandra and Pedra do Fogo, in Paraíba, and Goiana, in Pernambuco.
Regarding the Good Copper Garden project, the public notice deals with the mineral present in the city of Bom Jardim, in Goiás state. The area corresponds to a mining asset of 1,000 ha, which presents detailed studies of mineralization and resources estimated at 4.5 million tons of ore. The purpose of the auction is the transfer of mining rights for the conclusion of a contract of transfer by promise and, subsequently, the definitive transfer of the mining rights.
For its part, the public notice for the assignment of a Kaolin mineral area in the Capim River, in the municipality of Ipixuna do Pará, corresponds to two surveyed areas: South Block and North Block, with an area of 10,000 hectares.
