Norwegian company Fuella , backed by Allianz Capital Partners , has signed an important agreement with Prumo and its subsidiary Porto do Açu to strengthen the strategy, structuring and development of the green ammonia project in Brazil.

The plant was announced at Prumo Day 2024 and will focus on the production of sustainable ammonia through water electrolysis, with an annual capacity of 400,000 tons, with estimates of starting operations at the beginning of 2030.
The Brazilian port complex has positioned itself as a strategic hub for the development of clean energy and the export of sustainable products to Europe. Prumo ‘s Executive Director of Business Development, Mauro Andrade, highlighted: ” This plant will be fundamental to reducing carbon emissions and promoting the use of sustainable energy both in Brazil and globally .”
For his part, Dr. Thorsten Helms, Managing Director of Fuella , underlined the importance of the agreement: “The existing infrastructure and the support of the Porto do Açu team were decisive. This project not only expands our international presence, but also represents a step forward in decarbonisation. “.
With the support of the Port of Antwerp-Bruges International , both companies are seeking to establish Açu as a green ammonia export corridor to Europe. This development aims to strengthen the global energy transition and offer efficient solutions for reducing emissions.
