Fraunhofer Chile, through its Center for Solar Energy Technologies, an international Center of Excellence financed by the National Research and Development Agency (ANID), is immersed in the development of a web platform project that allows for a techno-economic evaluation for the production of solar hydrogen in the north of the country.
In this way, it seeks to support and encourage the development of solar hydrogen projects. According to the researcher and director of the project, Catalina Hernández Moris, explains that through this project they will create “a web platform that allows information at the pre-feasibility level to be provided to investors interested in developing green hydrogen projects from solar energy in the north of Chile. This tool is based on an algorithm for optimizing a solar mix for electricity generation based on photovoltaic and/or solar technology to estimate the production of green hydrogen by electrolysis, in addition to considering storage and transportation costs.”
According to the researcher, this platform will be technically validated with clients and a marketing strategy will be implemented, as a basis to offer the industry a valuable alternative to evaluate its projects based on an applied R&D service model. , developed by Fraunhofer Chile in conjunction with the company LIF Energy.
