International shipping company CMA CGM has welcomed the FORT DIAMANT , a flagship vessel powered by Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG), designed to lead the transition towards more sustainable maritime transport . This modern vessel was built by Samsung Heavy Industries in South Korea.

The christening of the FORT DIAMANT

The FORT DIAMANT, named after the iconic Guyana landmark, represents a significant advancement in CMA CGM’s LNG-powered fleet. During its christening ceremony, which was attended by Lina Choi as godmother, its ability to drastically reduce carbon emissions and other pollutants compared to conventional vessels was highlighted.

The vessel combines energy efficiency with advanced technology, positioning it as a role model in the maritime industry ; while its construction ensures high standards of quality and durability. This is a key step towards expanding the use of clean energy in global maritime transport.
