During a music festival in the UK, Domino’s Pizza introduced an innovative home delivery system. It is a “flying man” in charge of distributing the orders.
This unique service involves a jet pack and a delivery man being lifted into the air . Inspired by the story of ‘Rocket Man’ and the song by Elton John, the pizza chain showed this system for the first time during the Glastonbury music festival, taking advantage of the fact that the event had the participation of the famous British musician . This initiative marks a milestone in the food delivery industry.
Innovation in home orders
Domino’s Pizza partnered with Gravity Industries, a company specializing in jetpacks, to develop a custom suit that ensures the safety of the pilot and the products during deliveries. The investment in this design amounted to approximately $483,000.
According to a spokesperson for the tech company, being able to beat the average delivery time when flying through Somerset and feeding attendees with pizza delivery experts clearly shows the future of express delivery service.
The objective of this system is to deliver hot pizzas in the shortest possible time and anywhere without complications. However, due to the cost of the suits and the limited ability to transport only two pizzas at a time, it is unlikely that the pizza chain will adopt this system anytime soon.
