The deployment of an advanced FLiDAR buoy in the Nordés Park represents an important step for BlueFloat Energy, Plenitude and Sener in their mission to promote renewable energy in Galician waters. This cutting-edge technology will allow the collection of precise data on maritime conditions, crucial to reducing risks in the project and optimising its design.
FLiDAR buoy collects data for wind energy in Galicia
From the port of Ferrol, and in collaboration with Galician companies, the deployment of the FLiDAR buoy reinforces the commitment of these companies to the sustainable development of the region. The real-time collection of information on wind, waves and local biodiversity will serve to support environmental impact studies and promote balanced development.
The Parque Nordés offshore wind project , located more than 30 kilometres from the coast, promises to be a vital source of renewable energy for Galicia, covering 13% of the region’s electricity consumption . Its first phase will also generate 6,000 direct jobs, contributing significantly to Galicia’s GDP and positioning the community as a benchmark in clean energy.
With this advancement, BlueFloat Energy and its partners demonstrate their leadership in the energy transition , aligning their efforts with marine conservation and local economic development.
