The American firm Fisker liquidates its electric vehicles, after implementing drastic measures to maximize revenues and solidify its market presence. This has included unprecedented discounts on its only model, the Fisker Ocean.

Fisker’s must-have model

Fisker was forced to reduce its production targets several times. and adopted a strategy focused on dealer networks to try to boost sales. Now, in the search for support, it approached a “major automaker” to continue progress on the Ocean SUV and the three additional EV models in its portfolio.

The target was Nissan. However, the potential OEM as a savior ally did not come to a good agreement. As a result, the company faced the suspension of the Ocean’s production and a drop in its shares. In the absence of an investor offering a bailout and with trading halted, Fisker is facing tough times and is forced to liquidate its existing inventory of Ocean EVs.

Among other important announcements are the suggested retail prices (MSRP) for the three versions of the Ocean 2023 SUV, available only in the United States. Reduced prices are shown below:

The Ocean Sport model is now priced at $24,999, a difference of -$14,000 from the previous price. The Ocean Ultra was reduced by -$18,000, now costing $34,999, and the Ocean Extreme, the most equipped model, offers a discount of -$24,000, leaving it at $37,499.

Note: Some Ocean models come with up to $7,000 in additional equipment, despite the discounted prices.

A company spokesperson emphasized that the announcement focuses solely on price reductions and that Fisker is not commenting on its business operations or speculation at this time. The company continues to seek partnerships with dealers in North America and Europe.

Fisker’s goal is to strategically position itself to offer the Ocean electric SUV as a more affordable and attractive EV option by constantly improving it through frequent over-the-air (OTA) software updates.
