Sea Cheetah Corp. and H3 Dynamics have revealed plans to develop the world’s first hydrogen-electric powered WIGE vehicle using ground effect technology. Designed to fly just a few meters above the water, the vehicle promises to transform coastal shipping with a zero-emission solution and a speed that will exceed 135 knots (250 km/h) , significantly shortening transport times between coastal regions.

Sea Cheetah, known for its ability to connect island areas at high speed, is teaming up with Toulouse-based hydrogen solutions expert H3 Dynamics to integrate a hydrogen hybrid propulsion system. This combination will enable Sea Cheetah’s WIGE vehicles to achieve much greater ranges and load capacities than traditional systems.

Our hydrogen-powered hybrid powertrain enables these vehicles to operate with fuel efficiency not previously possible with batteries.

Highlighted Taras Wankewycz, CEO of H3 Dynamics.

In addition to the innovative propulsion technology, the partnership also envisages the creation of a charging infrastructure, with decentralised green hydrogen stations, called Sea Cheetah H2Hub . These charging points will enable a rapid refuelling cycle for the vehicles, supporting their continuous operation.

By combining our technologies, we have created a vehicle capable of transporting up to three times more cargo than current aircraft and vessels, ten times faster than ships and with much higher fuel efficiency.

Serge Markoff, founder and CEO of Sea Cheetah.

Unlike conventional aircraft, these vehicles will be classified as vessels, which simplifies their certification process in collaboration with the Coast Guard and the International Maritime Organization (IMO).
