According to the latest report from the Energy and Gas Regulation Commission (CREG) , as of June 3, 2023, the price of gasoline in Colombia increases $600 per gallon.
This increase is expected to continue for at least a month and is part of a series of continuous adjustments throughout the year.
As announced by the Minister of Finance, Ricardo Bonilla, on May 7, it is estimated that the price of gasoline could reach $16,000.
This means that this June increase will not be the last, as new measures will be implemented to address the country’s fiscal deficit, estimated at approximately $30 trillion.
According to the Ministry of Mines, the increase in the price of gasoline in Colombia is justified by the intention to advance in the elimination of subsidies, as part of the actions framed in the Fuel Price Stabilization Fund.
Given this scenario, it is crucial to look for strategies to save fuel while driving and be aware of the expenses when filling the tank and driving on the streets, both on weekdays and on weekends.
