Fersa presents its low-consumption wheel hubs that improve the efficiency of heavy transport.

Heavy-duty transport fleets using these hubs will see a significant return on their investment, achieving significant long-term fuel savings.

Fersa ‘s new development, the low-consumption wheel hubs , are a cutting-edge technology focused on reducing friction through optimized microgeometry, which allows for smoother, more efficient and fuel-optimized operation up to 50% compared to standard ( OEM ) hubs.

Energy-efficient wheel hub technology

The company has used advanced materials and high-quality seals that minimize friction and increase protection against contaminants , extending bearing life and ensuring consistent performance even under demanding conditions for all components.

Independent tests conducted in Spain and Brazil have demonstrated the effectiveness of wheel hubs , with a certified reduction of up to 7.10% in fuel consumption . These tests were conducted under real-life conditions, ensuring that this technology is effective in both urban and interurban driving conditions, as well as in extreme or long-distance driving conditions.

In addition to the economic benefits, fuel-efficient wheel hubs contribute to sustainability, resulting in a significant reduction in carbon dioxide emissions , allowing fleets to meet environmental targets. For example, a heavy-duty vehicle traveling 150,000 km annually can reduce up to 5.40 tons of CO₂ , which could be equivalent to planting 180 trees per year.

Fuel-efficient wheel hubs are specifically designed for heavy-duty trucks and buses , withstanding high-load conditions and intensive driving. Featuring premium lubrication technology, these hubs ensure long-lasting performance, improving overall vehicle efficiency. Additionally, their high load capacity ensures they can be used in a variety of heavy-duty conditions without sacrificing performance.

One of the first companies to adopt this technology is Sesé , a European supply chain management specialist with more than 3,000 trucks in its fleet for highly demanding distribution activities.

Every percentage of fuel savings translates into a cost reduction across our scale of operations.
