ExxonMobil and Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI) have partnered to implement MHI’s leading CO 2 capture technology as part of ExxonMobil’s comprehensive Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) solution for industrial customers.
The joint effort combines ExxonMobil and MHI’s years of experience in the industry and strengthens the companies’ ability to provide customers with solutions that will help promote a lower carbon future. By working together, the companies will give industrial customers confidence that their CCS projects will be effectively designed, built and executed.
The companies agreed to leverage their combined engineering and operational expertise and core scientific capabilities supported by The Kansai Electric Power Co., Inc. (KEPCO) to advance carbon capture technologies that could reduce the cost of CO 2 capture. for high emission industries.
The joint effort will be based on the KM CDR Process® and Advanced KM CDR Process®, developed by MHI and KEPCO, the only liquid amine carbon capture technology commercially proven at over 1 million metric tons per year.
