DevOps engineers have a high-demand professional training profile in various companies that require a leader to ensure continuity between software development and operation. Currently, DevOps leads the ranking of engineers with the highest demand in software development.
DevOps corresponds to a set of practices that group software development and IT operations (Information Technology) and that are becoming increasingly necessary for effective management of organizations. According to CodinGame’s annual report on the most in-demand software development team roles in 2021, the DevOps engineer is ranked first, ahead of back-end and full-stack developer roles.
In turn, the Australian employment portal Seek.com estimates a 30% growth in the demand for DevOps engineers over the next five years. In this regard, Marco Muñoz, CEO of IT- Talent Headhunter Senior IT, assures that “DevOps engineers are among the most demanded job profiles in the market, and there are not many with experience.” He adds that the labor demand in this area is “exponentially greater than the offer for IT professionals” and details that the need for experts increases when it comes to specializations in DevOps and assures that for this reason “their incomes have grown quite a bit”.
According to the expert, the DevOps methodology implies better management of resources, efforts and time, making procedures possible to carry out in a better way, thus obtaining satisfactory results.
The trend indicates that professionals with this specialized talent occupy strategic positions in organizations, in addition to excellent remuneration. In fact, he points out that according to the Benchmark IT Professionals Latam 2021 study, carried out by the IT Research studies division, the salaries of a DevOps engineer in Latin America range between 3,000 and 4,500 dollars.
