EP Petroecuador reported that it held a public tender for the export of 1,140,000 barrels of Fuel Oil No. 6, in order to take advantage of all the hydrocarbons produced at the Esmeraldas Refinery. This fuel oil will be used as fuel for electric power plants, boilers and furnaces.
As a result of this tender, Ecuador awarded Freepoint Commodities Singapore Pte. Ltd., which posted a spread of USD -10.15 per barrel. “The expected income from this operation is approximately USD 58.7 million,” said EP Petroecuador.
Likewise, he highlighted that the hydrocarbon will be delivered in six shipments of 190,000 barrels +/- 10% each at option and delivery is expected to take place between December 2022 and February 2023. The price of this export will be determined under the USGC HSFO Marker.
On the other hand, 39 companies qualified for the sale of this hydrocarbon in the International Trade Management Registry were invited to bid.
