At an event held in Dubai, Eni celebrated the expansion of its Baleine (Phase 2) project in Côte d’Ivoire with the naming ceremony of FPSO Petrojarl Kong and FSO Yamoussoukro. These units, which are intended for the production and storage of oil and gaswill sail to their offshore location, strengthening Eni’s extractive capacity in the region.

The event was attended by high-level officials, including Mamadou Sangafowa Coulibaly, Ivory Coast’s Minister of Petroleum, Mines and Energy; Fatoumata Sanogo, Petroci’s General Manager; and Guido Brusco, ENI’s Director of Natural Resources Operations. This ceremony symbolizes technical progress as well as strong institutional support for the project.

After an accelerated and successful development of Phase 1, these newly christened units are preparing for deployment some 50 km off the Ivorian coast, next to the FPSO Baleineoperational from August 2023. Phase 2 of the project, which is expected to start in December 2024, plans to raise production to 60,000 barrels of oil and 70 million cubic feet of gas per day.
First zero-emission upstream project in Africa
