ENGIE México and the Government of Campeche signed a collaboration agreement to develop energy projects in the state, and promote the Energy Transition through local supply development programs, shared benefits and clean and sustainable energy initiatives for the benefit of all Campeche residents. .

This agreement adds to the initiatives that are already being implemented in the region by the State Government and private initiatives that allow for the explosion of energy development in the South Southeast of the country, which generates investments, jobs and economic and social well-being.

During the signing, the Constitutional Governor of the State of Campeche, Layda Sansores, highlighted the importance of collaboration and coordinated work between the public and private sectors to continue promoting the entity’s energy development policy through Natural Gas projects, as well as how to be pioneers in the adoption of new technologies that contribute to the Energy Transition such as Biomethane.

This agreement will allow the development of social projects that the State requires, impacting 45 communities in Campeche where different social projects will be developed with an investment of 108 million pesos ,” commented the Governor.

For her part, Felisa Ros, General Director of ENGIE Mexico, assured that this collaboration agreement reaffirms the company’s commitment to continue promoting energy projects for the benefit of the country and development of the communities.

For 26 years, ENGIE has become an ally of Mexico and the communities where we have a presence through the supply of Natural Gas and the generation of renewable energy. With this collaboration agreement we seek to promote the economic and social development of Campeche and the region“, said.

For his part, the General Director of the Energy Agency of the State of Campeche, Carlos Adrián García Basto, highlighted the potential of the entity for the development of energy projects, as well as the opportunities that Natural Gas provides as a key fuel for the Energy Transition.

The agreement was signed by the Constitutional Governor of the State of Campeche, Layda Sansores; the General Director of the State Energy Agency, Carlos Adrián García Basto; the General Director of ENGIE Mexico, Felisa Ros; and the Vice President of Government Affairs and Sustainability, Ana Laura Ludlow Echeverría.

Later and in coordination with the Energy Agency of the State of Campeche, headed by Carlos Adrián García Basto, a meeting was held with local businessmen in the vicinity of the Business Coordinating Council (CCE) of Campeche.

During this meeting, Micro Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in the region were presented and invited to be part of the ENGIE Mexico Supplier Development Program, in order to promote companies and the economic development of the states of Campeche. , Tabasco and Yucatán.

ENGIE México and the Government of Campeche, through the State Energy Agency, reaffirm their commitment to continue developing the energy and economic potential of the region, and contribute to Mexico’s energy policy.
