The Delilah I Solar power plant, developed by Invenergy , has begun commercial operations in Texas with a capacity of 300 megawatts ( MW ). Located in Lamar and Red River counties, this facility is majority-owned by WEC Energy Group and will supply electricity through virtual power purchase agreements ( VPPAs ) to Honda Motor Company and Tesla , who will purchase approximately 200 MW and 100 MW of the facility.

The start of operations of Delilah I Solar is a step forward in the generation of clean energy in Texas, a state with growing electricity demand. The electricity produced will be injected into the local grid, strengthening energy diversification and supporting the reduction of carbon emissions.
Landowners and the broader local community were instrumental in enabling the company to achieve commercial operations at Delilah I, create good jobs for Texans, and partner with WEC and automotive giants like Honda and Tesla to add more American energy to the grid.
Bristi Cure, Senior Vice President of Renewable Development at Invenergy.
With this agreement, Honda reinforces its commitment to carbon neutrality, moving closer to its goal of being completely supplied with emissions-free energy in North America.
As we move toward carbon neutrality for all products and corporate activities, our 200 MW VPPA project with the Delilah I Solar Energy Center will significantly reduce CO₂ emissions from Honda’s U.S. auto manufacturing operations while adding more clean energy to the local grid.
Daniel Bremer, Carbon Neutrality Manager, American Honda Motor Company, Inc.
For its part, Tesla continues to expand its investment in renewable energy, securing 100 MW of clean energy through Delilah I Solar . This move is in line with its strategy to transition towards a more sustainable energy supply.
In addition to its environmental benefits, the solar plant has created jobs in Texas and boosted the local economy. Invenergy and its partners continue to lead energy infrastructure projects, with more than 33,000 MW of renewable capacity developed in the Americas, Europe and Asia.
The development of Delilah I Solar reinforces the growing trend of large corporations investing in clean energy purchase agreements, demonstrating the strategic role of renewable energy in the global energy transition.
