The leading company in renewable energy company, Encore Renewable EnergyEncore Renewable Energy has begun construction on a major project called “Constable Solar” in New York. This 3.6 MW solar array marks Encore’s first development in the state, backed by the NY-Sun Initiative and the VDER program, which ensures that the energy produced is offset by NYSEG, benefiting customers with affordable, carbon-free electricity.

Constable Solar unites energy and sustainability

Encore Renewable Energy founder Chad Farrell underscored the increasing demand for solar power in New Yorkdriven by the state’s ambitious clean energy goals. Farrell noted that utilities, such as NYSEG, play a crucial role in the adoption of renewables, ensuring that energy costs remain affordable for ratepayers.

An innovative aspect of this project is the collaboration with J&R Pierce Family Farm, which will allow on-site rotational grazing of sheep to manage vegetation, improving soil health and reducing the use of combustion machinery. This agrovoltaic practice supports clean energy production and also promotes agricultural sustainability. agricultural sustainability.

The project is being carried out on land previously used for hay production, owned by the Sirois brothers. This land will now have a new purpose, contributing to the state’s clean energy grid. GreenSpark Solar, a New York-based solar contractor, is leading the construction, highlighting its partnership with Encore Renewable.
