Polish startup Clone Robotics has revealed its latest innovation: A humanoid robot with a ghostly white appearance, designed to move with the precision and strength of a human. This development in biomimetic robotics has garnered attention for its impressive engineering, with some experts describing it as an event worthy of a science fiction movie.

Humanoid robot incorporates water-powered musculature

The humanoid torso, with elbows, neck and shoulders, was designed to replicate human anatomy , using a system of water-powered artificial muscles. The company aims to simplify interactions in the home, and improve sectors such as manufacturing and medical rehabilitation.

The robot is equipped with a lightweight skeleton and a frame that holds each of the hydraulic components. This model uses water pumped through valves to replicate muscle movements , activating artificial tendons and achieving the execution of its actions.

In the past, the company had developed a robotic hand with the ability to grasp objects with great dexterity. This advancement led to the creation of the torso, which also incorporates a bimanual system in development. With a look as realistic as it is disturbing, the demonstration of the robot has generated curiosity and admiration.

Advanced biomimetic engineering

Clone Robotics has no plans to bring its humanoids into homes. The primary goal is to integrate its robots into assembly lines , where detailed and precise manipulation is required. In addition, the company is exploring the use of its robotic hands in rehabilitation, where patients could use teleoperation to regain lost motor functions.
