The Chilean Air Force (FACh) launched the Chilean FA Sat-Delta satellite into space, aboard a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket that took off from the US Space Force base. Vandenberg, in Los Angeles, California.
The new satellite of the Chilean National Satellite System, which is part of the National Space Program, will be placed in low Earth orbit over the next few days, at an altitude of approximately 550 kilometers, reported Biobío.

The FA Sat-Delta was sent into space by the FACh together with the Israeli company ImageSat International (ISI).
The FA Sat-Delta weighs 90 kilos and will have a civil and defense role. Its task in space will be to take 50-megapixel RGB (red, green, and blue) images.
With this, Chile adds four satellites in orbit. His predecessors were the FA Sat-Alfa, Bravo and Charlie. In addition, it will have a useful life of five years and is classified as a small satellite (SmallSat).
