Representatives from Chile and Germany agreed to sign an exchange and cooperation agreement on renewable energy. At the meeting, the historical ties between the two countries and the vast areas of joint cooperation, especially in the field of renewable energy, were highlighted.
According to a note from Chilean Mining, the meeting also addressed issues related to the geopolitical realities of both countries and shared impressions about the visit they made to renewable energy projects and how they see the mining and energy issue in Chile.
The authorities also highlighted the recent experience in Germany with the intense drought and the fires that consumed almost 10% of the forests in the Thuringia region.
For this reason, they are evaluating the replacement of the burned species, mainly pine, with other trees that consume less water and are more resistant to periods of drought.
