The National Hydrocarbons Commission (CNH) approved the update of the Deepwater Exploration Plan of Chevron Energía de México.
During the 30th Extraordinary Session of the regulatory body, the CNH described that the Exploration Plan is part of Contract CNH-R02-L04-AP-CS-G03/2018. The license agreement.
It is a contractual area, with an approximate extension of 2,880 km², in deep waters of the Gulf of Mexico, off the coast of the State of Tabasco. Likewise, the area belongs to the Deep Gulf of Mexico oil province.
The activities contemplated in the initial exploration period include the acquisition of geophysical information and the performance of exploratory studies, this period ends on December 21, 2023.
Likewise, the objective of the modification is to continue with the evaluation of the oil potential and incorporate hydrocarbon resources through the drilling of a well. The prospect is Akna-1 Exp, which he will target in the K-Pg Gap play. According to the CNH, prospective resources are estimated at 1,435.2 million barrels of crude oil equivalent.
Chevron Energía de México estimates a total investment program of 108.84 million dollars in the Base operating scenario.
