CEMEF (Centre de Mise en Forme des Matériaux) is offering international scholarships to pursue a “PhD in energy savings through the use of thermally super-insulating bioaerogels” for the 2022-2023 academic year.
The objective of this PhD project is to develop biomaterials, bioaerogels, with very low thermal conductivity using a combined approach of formulation and experimental modeling of thermal properties of materials. The work will be based on recently discovered CEMEF bio-based aerogels with good thermal properties.
The CNRS and MINES ParisTech collaborate to manage CEMEF as a research center. CEMEF is a world leader in the development of biomass-based materials, particularly bioaerogels, and PERSEE (Library and Digital Library of Academic Journals) has extensive experience in aerogels for thermal insulation.
CEMEF will provide a gross salary of 26k €/year to the selected candidates. To be eligible, applicants must meet all of the following criteria: knowledge in polymer physics chemistry, ability to work in a group, mobility, motivation and sense of initiative, and ability to report regularly on their work. In addition, they must have a master’s degree with notable results and be fluent in English.
To apply, applicants must send by July 30, 2022, their documents to CEMEF: Curriculum Vitae, letter of motivation, grades for the last two years and two emails from a reference person to Tatiana Budtova, email: Tatiana.budtova@minesparis.psl.eu.
