FPSO Bacalhau christened in Seatrium with more than 4 million safe hours

On a memorable day at the Tuas Boulevard Yard, Seatrium celebrated the christening of the FPSO Bacalhau, marking an important step towards cleaner and more sustainable energy operations. This flagship vessel, which is one of the largest delivered to Brazil, stood out for its imposing size and also for being the first in the world to receive the DNV Abate notation, underlining the company’s commitment to reducing carbon emissions .

The event brought together energy sector leaders and partners, including Equinor, MODEC, ExxonMobil Brasil, Petrogal Brasil and Pré-Sal Petróleo (PPSA). Veronica Coelho, President and Country Manager of Equinor Brasil, had the honour of officially naming the floating production unit , highlighting the importance of global collaboration to meet delivery schedules and ensure safety.

With the scheduled navigation towards the Santos Basin, the FPSO Bacalhau symbolises OneSeatrium’s operational excellence, thanks to the dedication of a team that has accumulated over 4 million man-hours without lost-time injuries. This level of safety and efficiency not only drives confidence in the industry, but also sets a standard for future maritime project deliveries.
