Bitfarms started operations of its Bitcoin mining megafarm in Argentina

The Canadian company Bitfarms —whose founders are Argentines— began Bitcoin mining operations in its mega-farm located in the city of Río Cuarto, in the province of Córdoba, Argentina.

The Bitfarms facilities are estimated to initially contribute 10 MW of power to the network service and will multiply their mining power over time. By 2023, the company aims to reach 50 MW, thus contributing about 2.5 exahashes to the computing power of the Bitcoin network.

Work on the megafarm will continue and its full completion is expected by mid-2023.
