This degree is taught only at the National Defense University, in the Retiro neighborhood of Buenos Aires. Those who come from the interior of the country to study this specialty are offered an alternative accommodation managed by the Center for Naval Machinists. And because it is a priority, its students can apply for the Manuel Belgrano and Progresar scholarships.

An assured future: Bachelor’s Degree in Marine Propulsion Plants offers immediate employment in national and international shipping companies

The degree lasts for four years. The first three are studied in the classroom. The last one, on the other hand, is done on board a boat to carry out professional practices. At the end, a qualifying exam is carried out.

According to the specialized site Glassdoor, the average salary of a naval machinist in Argentina is $617,181. And you can get work in shipping companies in the country or abroad. By having such a low number of students, job opportunities are immediate.

After obtaining the titles of graduate in marine propulsion plants and naval machinist, the graduate can get a job in Argentina or in any other country in the world, since the title is recognized by the International Maritime Organization.
