Tompkins Robotics announced the launch of PickPallet, an automated pallet truck designed for global warehousing and distribution operations.
Mobile robot suppliers are diversifying their offerings with specialized models, expanding their market reach. This new addition to the product line, known as PickPal, will improve warehouse automation, efficient inventory management, and time management in order delivery.
PickPallet: an efficient automated pallet truck
With a maximum load capacity of 3,300 pounds (1,500 kg), it is designed to handle a variety of international pallet sizes. This autonomous system allows picking up pallets from the floor and transporting them to different locations within the facility in an efficient and autonomous manner. In addition, it is compatible with a wide range of standard pallet sizes, including those used in the United States, Europe and Australia.
It is also equipped with an advanced navigation system and sensors to detect obstacles, so it can avoid collisions with people, forklifts and parked pallets. This capability improves safety and efficiency in busy warehouse environments. In addition, Tompkins fleet management software coordinates the operations of the autonomous mobile robots. autonomous mobile robots (AMR) to optimize (AMR) to optimize material movement missions.
The Tompkins Robotics Family of Innovative Tools
Founded in 2017, Tompkins Robotics has been noted for its tSort sorting system, adaptable to spaces of any size. The introduction of the PickPal line represents a strategic expansion into floor operations, complementing its sortation solutions. The first generation AMR PickPal was introduced in March 2023, marking the beginning of this new phase of technological development.
Mike Futch, its president and CEO, emphasized the company’s commitment to innovation focused on customer needs. Since its inception, the company has prioritized active listening to customer feedback to drive continuous improvement of its robotic solutions. PickPallet and the PickPal product line are concrete examples of this philosophy, designed to address the most pressing supply chain operational challenges.
In this regard, the upcoming presentation of PickPallet and other Tompkins automation offerings at MODEX will be an opportunity to demonstrate the capabilities and benefits of these innovations in a practical context. Visitors will have the opportunity to learn firsthand how these solutions can optimize their operations and improve efficiency in their respective industrial environments.
