The company that provides technological solutions, Redimec, located in the city of Tandil, province of Buenos Aires, Argentina, carries out a strategic industrial project oriented towards the national development -at the prototype level- of a Theodolite, an optical mechanical measuring instrument that It is used to measure the positioning, latitude and longitude, of something with respect to the center of gravity.
The Argentine state granted it financing of almost 10 million pesos to advance in the development of key precision technology for the military and civil spheres, for which the company is working on the technological integration of the Theodolite, which includes its redesign and the improvement of their weight and functions.
The device, based on fiber optic technology, offers great precision in terms of its location, which is why it can be used for military purposes -for defense and security-, and civilians -in different types of industries such as mining, oil, aeronautical and naval-, since the system allows generating topographic surveys to determine the relative position of different points, such as bridges and streams, on the earth’s surface.
The initiative, in addition to satisfying a demand from the Argentine Army, for a technology that has no precedent at the national level, has the capacity to export to different countries.
