Alcoholes de Uruguay (ALUR) published an invitation to “expressions of interest” to develop a project for the production of methanol, synthetic fuels and SAF (sustainable aviation fuel), using biogenic carbon from the Paysandú bioethanol plant.
The call to interested parties indicates that the project “will be at the cost and risk of the developer, with the possible participation of the ANCAP Group.”
The selection process will have several stages: a dissemination period, the call for expressions of interest and qualification of companies, and the call for application and selection of a developer and winning project.
Interested parties must meet the requested requirements and will have to present a conceptual project that must include ALUR’s biogenic carbon capture at its Paysandú plant, combined with the production of green hydrogen, for the production of synthetic fuels.
The ANCAP and ALUR team working on this project received advice from the Hinicio consultancy, recognized for its specialization in green hydrogen.
In this project, the ANCAP Group puts its industrial areas and infrastructures for the storage and export of production by river and sea for the consideration of interested parties.
