The Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism (MINCETUR) explained that, from January to July 2022, China was the main destination for mining exports. According to its statistical bulletin, China condensed 51% of national mining exports.
At the continent level, Asia concentrated 70% of all mining shipments; followed by Europe with a share of 16% and America with 13%. He also explained that Peru-Asia trade has slowed down, growing 6.5%.
Trade with China grew 6.9%, followed by Korea and Japan with variations of 11.2% and 10.9%, respectively. On the other hand, mining exports (metallic and non-metallic) grew 3.1% in the period from January to July 2022.
According to MINCETUR, the higher sales of phosphates (+48.1%), molybdenum (+44.5%), zinc (+20.5%) and tin (+20.3%) stood out. Meanwhile, copper exports grew 3.7% in this period; but the sale of gold fell 0.4%.
Regarding mining companies, exports from Antamina, Cerro Verde and Southern advanced 12%, 33% and 2%; respectively. On the other hand, Las Bambas registered a 45% drop in its exports between January-July of this year compared to the same period last year.
