Enlight Renewable Energy and its US subsidiary Clēnera have signed a major power purchase agreement (PPA) with Arizona Public Service (APS) to develop the ambitious Snowflake A project , located near Holbrook in northeastern Arizona. This project, which includes 600 MW of solar generation capacity and 1,900 MWh of energy storage , is shaping up to be one of the most significant initiatives in Enlight’s portfolio.
Snowflake A will transform northeastern Arizona
The PPA, with a fixed price and a 20-year term, ensures a continuous supply of clean and stable energy to APS users. Construction is projected to begin in 2025 , with commercial operation expected in mid-2027, provided the necessary regulatory permits are obtained. Otherwise, the company may terminate the agreement without significant costs.
Clēnera CEO Adam Pishl highlighted the significance of the project: “ We have worked extensively with the authorities to design a development that will fully exploit the solar potential of the region and benefit the local community .” A second phase of the Snowflake complex is also being planned, which will increase capacity by a further 650 MW and 2,100 MWh .
The Snowflake A PPA is fundamental to our expansion strategy in the US market. We are in the midst of implementing several key projects that will strengthen our presence in the region.
