The company Equinor has awarded two new contracts to Reach Subsea for the execution of IMR inspections, subsea maintenance, and gas monitoring with the Reach Remote 1 unmanned vessel.

Technical inspections with the Reach Remote 1 vessel

Regarding the first assignment, work will focus on the monitoring of gas reservoirs in the Troll field. To fulfill this task, the company will employ its proprietary gWatch technology. This tool has demonstrated superior efficacy in obtaining critical data on the status of reserves. Furthermore, the integration of high-precision sensors into an unmanned platform allows for an agility that conventional vessels simply cannot match.

The scope of the second contract shifts focus toward inspection, maintenance, and repair services. The work plan includes the deployment of remotely operated vehicles from the Reach Remote 1 itself. This technical integration allows for intervention on a large number of subsea assets without putting human lives at risk. Likewise, the design of these specific tools for unmanned environments ensures that the quality of the intervention is impeccable.

Planning for these campaigns will begin immediately to occupy fleet capacity throughout much of 2026. According to the data available, the consecutive execution of these three projects for Equinor consolidates the company’s financial position.

Reducing offshore complexity and cutting carbon emissions are factors that decide who wins major contracts today. Reach Subsea’s strategy of committing to sustainable access to ocean space is yielding very profitable results.
