Petrobras has awarded Acteon a multi-million dollar, three-year contract for the provision of stack-up mooring systems services in Brazil. The agreement strengthens the relationship between both companies and consolidates Acteon’s presence in the Latin American offshore market.
According to available information, the contract includes support for light workover interventions and abandonment operations on subsea Christmas trees. These activities will be carried out on both Mobile Offshore Drilling Units (MODU) and Well Intervention Vessels (WIV), at depths ranging from 80 to 600 meters.
Offshore Mooring Contract and Integrated Technical Capabilities
One of the most relevant aspects of the contract is the integration of three Acteon business lines. This strategy allows for a complete solution that combines engineering, monitoring, and operational execution in complex offshore environments.
Intermoor will act as the main contractor, responsible for project management, logistics, and offshore mooring operations. Its responsibilities include the installation and recovery of anchors, mooring lines, and subsea BOP interfaces.
For its part, 2H will provide advanced engineering capabilities, including BOP mooring system design, sensor data integration, and real-time global riser analysis. This approach optimizes structural performance during operations.
In turn, UTEC will supply technological solutions for real-time riser monitoring. This includes tension sensors, subsea load links, GNSS/INS systems, and surface data acquisition platforms.
Operational Efficiency and Risk Reduction
The combination of these capabilities aims to improve the safety and efficiency of offshore operations. Likewise, the integrated approach contributes to reducing operational risks and optimizing execution schedules.
Another notable element is logistical optimization through the use of the base at the Port of Açu. This strategy allows for direct vessel loading, reducing operation times and minimizing environmental impact.
According to the company, this contract reflects Petrobras’ confidence in Acteon’s integrated operating model and its track record in offshore projects in Brazil. The collaboration between both companies is positioned as a key factor for the development of future initiatives in the oil and gas sector.
