PT Humpuss Maritim Internasional Tbk (HUMI), through its subsidiary PT OTS Internasional (OTSI), has begun developing an LNG mini-plant in Bojonegoro, East Java. This project is being carried out by the business unit PT Hutama Metana Perkasa and represents a step forward in supplying liquefied natural gas within Indonesian territory.

Cutting-edge technology and international collaboration

The development will take place on an area of 1.6 hectares and will have a processing capacity of 5 million standard cubic feet per day (MMSCFD). For its execution, PT Hutama Metana Perkasa established an alliance with China CAMC Engineering Co. Ltd., which will make it possible to incorporate advanced technology in processing natural gas into liquid form at a mid-scale level.

The commissioning of this LNG mini-plant is more than a simple business expansion; it is tangible proof of our commitment to national energy independence. By optimizing Bojonegoro’s local potential and collaborating with experienced partners, we are confident we can deliver energy solutions that are more affordable and sustainable than fuel oil.

Ari Askhara, CEO of the HUMI Group.

A project aligned with the Government’s goals

Construction and commissioning of the mini LNG plant is expected to take between 12 and 15 months. Beyond its technical impact, the project aligns with the economic and social development objectives set out in the Asta Cita Law of the Government of the Republic of Indonesia. The plant not only aims to ensure supply for regional industries, but also to consolidate a cleaner energy base for the country’s future.

Institutional backing and business synergy

During the groundbreaking ceremony, held on March 12 in Bojonegoro, HUMI executives, representatives from partner companies PGN and Camcee, and project executives took part. Taufik, OTSI’s director, thanked all parties involved for their support and reaffirmed the importance of international cooperation in this type of energy development.
