The alliance between Everllence and PTT Exploration and Production Public Company Limited (PTTEP) marks a turning point in emissions management in Thailand. The firm has been selected to equip the Arthit gas field with state-of-the-art CO2 compression systems, specifically designed for the country’s first large-scale carbon capture and storage (CCS) project.
CO2 compression systems
This technical deployment will allow for the management of up to 1 million tons of carbon dioxide annually. Everllence will supply two radial barrel compressor (RB) trains, which will work integrated with Solar Turbines gas turbines.
This configuration guarantees stable operability under the demanding conditions of the Gulf of Thailand, facilitating the efficient reinjection of captured gas into secure geological structures.
Furthermore, the execution of this contract includes a dynamic process simulation to maximize the energy performance of the equipment. Daniel Schmidli, a company executive for the region, highlights that these compression solutions are indispensable tools in the transition toward cleaner gas production.
Under the framework of the Nationally Determined Contributions Action Plan, this project is positioned as a fundamental piece for the 2030 climate goals. The implementation of cutting-edge technology in offshore environments optimizes PTTEP’s existing infrastructure and sets a reliability standard for future CCS developments across the continent.
