Petroecuador has confirmed that Block 16, where the spill occurred, has seen a decrease in oil production from 15,000 to 10,000 barrels per day since 2023.
The project will produce 110,000 tons of hydrogen, 600,000 tons of ammonia and 60,000 tons of green methanol annually.
The new plant will enable the production of more than 200 underwater drones per year.
