Frédéric Reverdy, Senior Application and Products Engineer at Eddyfi Technologies, will demystify “Advanced Ultrasonic Inspection Techniques.”

Frederic Reverdy received his PhD at the University of Bordeaux (France) in 2000 on the topic of Composite Inspection using Laser-Ultrasonics. He spent 5 years at the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, USA, as a scientist developing NDT methods for the automotive and Oil&Gas industries.

Frederic then became a project manager at the Atomic Energy Commission (CEA) in France developing NDT solutions for various industries. He became in charge of a common laboratory between the CEA and Airbus developing NDT procedures for the aeronautic industry.

Frederic has been with Eddyfi Technologies for five years as a senior technical specialist. He is an expert in ultrasonic techniques (conventional, TOFD, phased-array, TFM, EMAT, laser ultrasonics).

Dr. Brian Pavlakovic of GUL Ultrasonic will enlighten us on “Large Area Monitoring for Pipes.”

Brian is a Director of GUL, and was a co-founder of the company in 1998. He holds a BA, BS and MS in Engineering Science from Penn State university and a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from Imperial College London.

Brian won a prestigious Marshall scholarship award and spent a brief period studying in Lyon, France. His research at Imperial was related to the study and theory of Leaky guided waves in NDT. The Disperse software package, which he co-wrote with Prof Lowe and is still sold by the university, was an outcome of his research.

Brian has authored a number of patents relating to guided wave testing theory and equipment manufacture and is a Level 3 in guided wave testing. He is involved with all aspects of the products and services within the company, with specific responsibilities that include software, electronics and product development. He is also supervising a PhD student at Imperial College. Brian enjoys outdoor activities such as diving and skiing.
