Mexican engineers experts in air conditioning are trained in Spain

Twenty-five Mexican engineers who are experts in refrigeration and air conditioning have made a study trip to Madrid, Spain to participate in a training program organized by the National Confederation of Installers (CNI) and the collaboration of the Provincial Association of Heating, Air Conditioning, Plumbing and Gas of Cuenca (ACOIN).

To achieve its objective of reducing hydrofluorocarbons (HCFCs), the Secretariat of the Environment and Natural Resources of the Government of Mexico (SEMARNAT) has relied on the CNI to develop this training program in which these experts/professors from Study Centers have participated. Technological Institutes, Technological Institutes, National Colleges of Technical Professional Education and Industrial Technological and Services Baccalaureate Centers.

The attendees, from sixteen cities in Mexico, have attended various technical conferences organized by the CNI on topics such as the European regulation of F-gases, changes in the Safety Regulations for Refrigeration Facilities, safety regulations and measures to improve energy efficiency in refrigeration and air conditioning installations or requirements for refrigeration companies and professionals in Spain.

The CNI has given sixteen technical conferences with speakers from the CNI Technical Committee such as Javier Ponce from FORMATEC, Antonio Cano from FREMM, Susana Rodríguez and Lorena Hernández from ASOFRIO or Andrés Salcedo from ACOIN.

In addition, they have made technical visits to emblematic facilities of special technical interest such as Casa Sophia, listed as the most sustainable and energy efficient home, which aspires to obtain the Passivhaus Premium category and the GBCe green seal, or the refrigeration facilities of the Logistics Platform of Supermercados Día in Illescas, the chain’s largest warehouse in Spain, with 68,000 m2 of which 21,000 are refrigerated with a power of 4,000 Kw, and which has the excellent BREEAM certification, energy rating A and BIM methodology in the design and execution developed by Friex. They also visited the Banco de Santander facilities, a LEED GOLD certified building.
