The container ship Dali , known for the maritime accident that brought down the Francis Scott Key Bridge in Baltimore, has returned to service after completing its repairs. The Fujian Huadong shipyard in China completed the work 10 days ahead of schedule, highlighting its efficiency. The ship resumed its activities on Sunday.

The accident, which occurred in March of last year, had a major impact on the city, from damage to Baltimore’s largest bridge to lengthy legal proceedings that could cost hundreds of millions of dollars.
According to a preliminary report by the National Transportation Safety Board ( NTSB ), electrical failures on the container ship Dali contributed to the incident. These problems occurred both before the ship set sail and in the moments leading up to the collision.
The return of the Dali to service represents a challenge for the maritime industry in terms of safety and prevention of future accidents. While the ship is resuming its activity, investigations into responsibilities and environmental impact are still ongoing.
