Tesla is expanding in Texas, after securing much of an industrial park recently in Kyle, a suburb near the city of Austin, the Texas state capital.

The automotive company maintains its major expansion plans, (although they have not been officially confirmed), it is speculated that it could be widely destined to the manufacture of batteries and essential implements, strengthening Tesla’s strategies.

Tesla giant expands in Texas

The “Gigafactory Texas” in Austin, which is recognized as its most extensive production facility, the company continues to look to expand its footprint in this growing area. The company has acquired space in three of the five buildings that make up the Kyle/35 Logistics Park, located in Kyle, Texas. This acquisition adds more than 900,000 square feet to its credit in buildings 2, 3 and 5 of the complex.

An official presentation revealed that Tesla has further extended its dominance within the industrial park by securing an additional 127,000 square feet of space in Building 1, which totals 224,000 square feet. With this latest acquisition, Tesla now occupies more than 1 million square feet of the park’s total 1.4 million square feet.

Although Tesla’s exact plan for this new facility has not been detailed, the proximity to its Texas Gigafactory suggests that it could complement Model Y, Cybertruck, and battery cell production operations, among other company projects.
