Inspenet, December 17, 2023.

This 50 MW project, scheduled to come into operation in 2025 in Logrosán (Cáceres), Spain, will generate an average production of 376 GW hours per year and will require annual consumption of 270,000 metric tons of biomass of agricultural origin, mainly obtained from surroundings.

In addition, the new biomass plant will provide employment to almost 1,400 people , of which more than 400 have been incorporated during the construction phase. The contribution to Spain’s gross domestic product (GDP) over its 35-year useful life is estimated at 1,235 million euros.

About the new biomass plant

This project will generate an average of 376 GWh/year of renewable electricity , equivalent to the consumption of 108,000 homes, and will help avoid the annual emission of 165,000 tons of CO 2 carbon dioxide, equivalent to removing more than 60,000 vehicles from circulation.
