From Houston, Texas during the ASNT 2023 annual conference, Richard Blaser from Inspenet had the pleasure of interviewing Greg Shawinsky, Regional Technical Sales Specialist at QSA Global inc. La Parte, Texas. During the interview, we explore the world of QSA Global and its exciting advances in industrial radiography.
A Success Story at ASNT
QSA Global, a leader in the field of industrial radiography, has been a constant presence at ASNT for many years. With a long history of innovation in the industry, the company is known for its products used in borehole inspections, quality control and profile inspections. One of its most prominent products is the 880 Delta yellow projector, which contains the isotopes used in conventional radiographic inspections.
Real-Time Radiography (RTR) of the Future
During the interview, Greg introduced QSA Global’s Open Vision HD, an exciting innovation that represents the company’s fourth generation of RTR devices. Unlike previous isotope-based products, the Open Vision HD uses an electronic X-ray tube, making it a non-continuous radiation that can be turned on and off as needed.
This device offers a significant advantage in the inspection of insulated pipes. With a built-in digital radiography panel, the machine can take real-time images and display indications of corrosion on the pipe. This saves time by allowing technicians to quickly and accurately identify areas that require attention.
Continuous Innovation in Radiography
They have been producing real-time radiography devices since 1998, and the Open Vision HD is its latest addition. This version, launched last spring, has generated great excitement in the market due to its high-definition and advanced real-time radiography capabilities. The company continues to lead the way in the field of industrial radiography.
