From Houston, Texas during the ASNT 2023 annual conference, Richard Blaser from Inspenet had the pleasure of interviewing Roscoe Martin, the Technical Sales Engineer for Ionix Advanced Technologies, a firm specializing in high temperature ultrasonic probes based in the UK. Martin gave us an exclusive insight into what this company brings to the inspection community.
Innovating in the UK
“Ionix is a UK company specializing in high-temperature ultrasonic probes” Roscoe began, highlighting the company’s expertise in this specific niche. “We offer a wide range of products, from conventional UT inspections to TOF that accommodates high temperatures.“
Ionix’s outlook doesn’t stop there. The company also dives into permanent equipment installation, which allows for targeted mapping of the corrosion area and trending of data over time.
High and Low Temperature Applications
“We have probes that operate from 150 degrees, which is our low temperature, and go up to 550 degrees. In Fahrenheit terms, we’re talking 1,020°F,” he explained.
He also noted the adaptability of the probes for uniform and less uniform corrosion conditions, allowing unprecedented versatility in the ultrasonic inspection field.
Ionix Advanced Technologies Looking forward to the Best of ASNT
This is Roscoe Martin’s first time attending ASNT, and he is excited for the experience. “I’m really looking forward to soaking it all in and meeting a lot of people interested in NDT” he enthusiastically shared.
As the conference continues to be a platform for innovators and industry leaders like Ionix Advanced Technologies, we look forward to seeing more advancements in the field of nondestructive testing and inspection.
