From Houston, Texas during the ASNT 2023 annual conference, Richard Blaser from Inspenet had the pleasure of interviewing Jesse Delgado, Director of Sales for Industrial Inspection & Analysis. A leading firm that focuses on inspection of everything from fire hoses to nuclear reactors.
From Hoses to Reactors
Jesse gave us an overview of the company: “We are a sizable company with offices throughout the United States. We handle inspections of all types. From fire hoses to nuclear reactors, we do everything in between,” Delgado said.
Revolutionizing Data Acquisition
The highlight of our conversation was learning about ARMUT, one of the company’s patented technologies. This innovation eliminates the need for mechanical robotics in the data acquisition process. Using unique QR codes attached to a component, and with the help of an ultrasonic sensor and camera, data can be acquired quickly, creating an accurate image of the component in question.
Step Technology: Inspecting Valves Without Disassembly
Jesse also introduced us to step technology. Traditionally, to inspect valves, especially in industries such as nuclear, they would have to be disassembled, a process that can be costly and tedious. With step technology, it is now possible to examine the inside of a valve without disassembling it, using ultrasound to create detailed images of the interior.
A Global Reach from Texas
Although Industrial Inspection & Analysis is primarily based in San Antonio, Texas, its reach is truly global, with offices in Atlanta, the East Coast and the West Coast.
In short, the innovations presented by Jesse Delgado at ASNT promise to transform the way industrial inspections are performed, making processes more efficient and accurate.
