Chinese energy company Three Gorges has set new industry records by installing the world’s largest wind turbine<\/strong> , created using state-of-the-art offshore wind turbines. Without a doubt, this achievement has considerably raised the bar for the future in the field of wind energy in this Asian country.<\/p>\n\n China has developed a new offshore wind turbine with an impressive 252-meter-wide rotor, a significant improvement on the previous record held by a 236-meter-diameter rotor turbine from Danish company Vestas.<\/p>\n\n This extraordinary power generating unit is expected to produce 63.5 million kWh of electricity per year<\/strong> , equivalent to the consumption of 30,000 households in China. This record-setting 16 MW wind turbine is being installed on the country’s southeast coast. It forms part of the second phase of CTG’s Zhangpu Liuao wind farm, and is the largest of its kind in the world. The installation was made possible by the company’s wind power platform, known as Baihetan.<\/p>\n\n The Zhangpu Liuao Wind Farm has reached a significant milestone by installing the world’s first 16 MW wind turbine.
