New mineral deposits have been found in various regions of Syria, the country’s Minister of Oil and Mineral Resources, Firas Kaddour, told Sputnik.<\/p>\n\n

“We found new mineral deposits in Syria. The explorations confirmed their presence,” the headline said.<\/p>\n\n

Syria promotes investment in its mineral resources sector<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n

As Kaddour stated, the authorities are currently working to make the country’s mineral resources sector more attractive to local and foreign investment.<\/p>\n\n

Also, he continued, work is being carried out to introduce changes in the legislation in order to promote investments in this area in the country.<\/p>\n\n

“Nine investment possibilities in the sphere of mineral resources have been proposed” by the Syrian Investment Agency, the minister said.<\/p>\n\n

Kaddour specified that the possibilities are open to the sister states and allies of that country, including Russia and Iran.<\/p>\n\n
