The demo tire passed all applicable government tests, as well as Goodyear&#8217;s internal tests.<\/p>\n\n<p>This concept tire has lower rolling resistance compared to the reference tire made from conventional materials. This allows lower fuel consumption and therefore a reduction in CO <sub>2<\/sub> emissions.<\/p>\n\n<p>In 2022, Goodyear introduced a concept tire made from 70% sustainable material. In collaboration with its partners, Goodyear plans to start selling it this year.<\/p>\n\n<p>Bringing a tire made from 90% sustainable materials to market requires further collaboration with the company&#8217;s supply base to determine the scale needed for these innovative materials to mass-produce such tires.<\/p>\n\n<p>\u201cWe continue to make progress toward our goal of introducing the industry&#8217;s first 100% sustainable material tire by 2030,\u201d said Chris Helsel, senior vice president of global operations and chief technology officer. \u201cThe past year has been crucial in achieving this goal.
